A lot of good food for very little money!
We had breakfast here on a Friday. The staff was totally friendly, though the food took quite a while. I think there probably just weren't a lot of people working on a weekday morning. We all got omelettes, and they were all huge! The cheese grits were good, and the home fries are wonderful! I spied a few plate-sized pancakes being happily scarfed down at other tables.
If I had been in the company of a different group, we would have taken advantage the shelf full of board games during our wait for food.
I could totally return here on the right occasion. Friendly service, good food, great value!

I have only gone here for breakfast. It's a tiny little diner. It has about the same atmosphere as any other breakfast 24 hour diner. Though I don't ever recall seeing this place open very late at night.
(There are some other breakfast places in Greensboro that are much more busy and more expensive)

The food is okay. There is  nothing super special about it. I do enjoy their home fries. My partner got the pancakes one morning and they were a little overcooked.

I haven't had bad service in the three or four times I've gone.

Cleanliness wise- it's okay...It could be better but in Greensboro there are diners that I refuse to go to because they aren't clean.

So go to this place when you are looking for a cheap breakfast in a less crowded restaurant.

I've been to Spring Garden Diner several times & have left satisfied every time. The atmosphere is upbeat, the food is good, & the cost is low. It reminds me of the diner where I worked my first job many years ago, lending me to bouts of nostalgia. There are TV's that are occasionally on, but the windows are far more interesting for people watching. I definitely recommend SG Diner to all citizens of & visitors to the Greensboro area.

I'd probably give this place 4 stars normally, but I felt the pricing was a little high for what amounts to standard diner food. We ended up here one morning when the wait to get into Scrambled was JUST TOO DARN HIGH! (cue preacher meme) and were a little bit pressed for time. We were able to walk right in and sit right down here, so that's what we did.

You'll find all the standard breakfast items here with choices of grits/home fries and biscuit/toast, and during the week it looks like they have an inexpensive breakfast special. Unfortunately we were here on a weekend and didn't get to partake in that.

I had a steak and cheese omelette and my wife had a western omelette. Neither one was anything to write home about, but I'd say you wont be disappointed in the taste either. The home fries were tasty if a bit mushier than I would prefer, but the toast tasted like fresh bread from the nearby bakery across the street.

Overall, I would come back here any time the Scrambled wait is too long to bear again, otherwise... I'm going there.

I wanted to go out for breakfast this morning and realized I hadn't tried this place. Everybody was really nice from beginning to end. As for the food, it wasn't the best or worst I've had. They pride themselves on huge pancakes based on the waitress' explanation of them. I'd rather have a regular size pancake if it comes to the table hot but this was barely warm. The omelet was good but the biscuit was greasy to the touch so I didn't eat any of it. The home fries were good, cooked with onions. Should asked for them to be a bit crispy. I didn't get any napkins, which I also saw mentioned with other reviews. Lastly, they offer coffee in different size cups. Mine was a huge mug which meant my coffee went cold before I could finish. Stick with standard size cups and make the extra trips as needed to refill.
